Question: Today’s question comes from Paula Koetter. She asks if it’s true that casinos pay out more at the end of each quarter or month to assess their profit margins.
Answer – Slot machines don’t operate the way many people think. When installed, they are set to a predetermined payback percentage, calculated over the machine’s lifetime. Wins are determined by a random number generator (Class III slots) or the outcome of a bingo game (Class II slots). Payouts are not changed randomly. While it might feel like certain times are luckier, it’s all about having the right machine, placing the right bet, at the right moment!
