Why is Dragon Train Slot being pulled from casino’s?
Indeed, the widely popular Dragon Train slot machine by Light & Wonder is being withdrawn from all land-based casinos, with a mandatory removal ruling by October 23, 2024.

Lets take a look at the timeline.
- August 2023 – Light & Wonder launched Dragon Train in Australia,
- February 26th 2024 – Slot machine maker and digital content provider Aristocrat Technologies Inc files a lawsuit in the United States against gaming equipment supplier Light & Wonder Inc, alleging the latter violated its intellectual property (IP). The matter involves Dragon-themed titles offered by the two companies.
- March 2024 – Dragon Train is launched in the US.
- September 23rd 2024- The U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada granted Aristocrat a preliminary injunction against Light & Wonder, preventing the company from selling, leasing, or commercializing Dragon Train.
- October 1st 2024 – The court clarified its September 23rd injunction and ordered the supplier to remove all land-based and online Dragon Train games by October 23rd 2024.
- October 4th 2024- Light & Wonder terminated the employment of the designer of Dragon Train. Light & Wonder CEO Matt Wilson also released a video statement addressing the court case and the future of Dragon Train
- October 23rd 2024- all current dragon train slots must be removed there are roughly 2,200 games installed in the US.
Light and Wonder says they are working on a Dragon Train 2.0 to release as soon as possible The focus of the lawsuit appears to be mainly with the math model and it was said to be a knock off of Aristocrats Dragon link and Lightning Link.
